Finance Executive

Job Descriptions

  • Assist in preparing invoices to clients and payments to suppliers.
  • Prepare journal entries, performs periodic reconciliation of general ledger, banks, debtor ledger, creditor ledger, journal.
  • Post Account Receivables & Account Payables entries in to the SAGE system.
  • Assist in preparing monthly closing of accounts, consolidating inter-companies accounts, financial and other management reports.
  • Assist Finance Manager for daily banking and finance matters.
  • To oversee all aspects of daily accounting functions and ensure proper maintenance of accounting records.
  • Liaise with both internal and external parties when necessary.
  • Assist with any other tasks as and when assigned by the Management.

Job Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent (Eg. ACCA,CIMA,MIA).
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Able to handle full set of accounts.
  • Preferably those with exposure in audit or accounting firms.
  • Applicants must be willing to work in Shah Alam.
  • Applicants should be Malaysian citizens.
  • Willing to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Required languages: English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU) is looking for Data Scientist to join its growing Big Data Analytics team. As part of Big Data Analytics Team, he/she will be responsible for developing state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Deep Learning algorithms and designs using large data sets to solve real world problems. As a Data Scientist, he/she will bring statistical modelling and machine learning advancements to data analytics for customer-facing solutions in complex industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Help to deliver a AI/ML project from beginning to end, including understanding the business need, aggregating data, exploring data, building & validating predictive models, and deploying completed models with concept-drift monitoring and retraining to deliver business impact to the organization.
  • Interact with project, research and  analytics teams to understand their specific requirements and operational processes with data-driven guidance and recommendations.
  • Prototype models by using high-level modelling languages such as R or Python. A separate analytics team will be working with the data scientist to transform prototypes into production.
  • Work with internal / external consultants (e.g. Big Data, IoT) to analyze, extract, normalize, and label relevant data, and with analytics team to operationalize the models after they are prototyped.
  • Conduct, direct, and coordinate all phases of research projects, demonstrating skill in all stages of the analysis process, including defining key research questions, recommending measures, working with multiple data sources, evaluating methodology and design, executing analysis plans, as well as interpreting and communicating results.
  • Use AWS AI services (e.g. Personalize), ML platforms (e.g. SageMaker), and frameworks (e.g. MXNet, TensorFlow, PyTorch, SparkML, scikit-learn) to help organization to build the required ML models.

Basic Qualifications

  • +1 years of experience with data scripting languages (e.g SQL, Python, R etc.) or statistical / mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, or Matlab).
  • +1 years working as a Data Scientist with experience writing quality code to analyze data.
  • Develop and improve statistical and econometric analyses that provide insights into the business.
  • Develop pragmatic analyses and choose applicable solutions that add value to the business area.
  • Understand data resources and know how, when and which to use (and which not to use).
  • Use advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to solve business problems.
  • Communicate analyses and techniques, both verbally and in writing, to peers and strategic partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or a similar discipline with analytical bias.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying statistical methods to observational data.
  • Experience applying various machine learning techniques, and understanding the key parameters that affect their performance.
  • Experience using SQL and either Python or R programming languages.
  • Background in NLP-based deep learning algorithms and technologies.
  • Experience using cloud-based services and big data technologies to support data processing pipelines such as AWS Redshift, EMR, Sagemaker, and Spark.

Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU) is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to work with passionate and energetic team to build world class big data platform and deploy scalable business intelligence tools for the State.

He/she is an expert with data modelling, ETL design and business intelligence tools. He/she is a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big (while paying careful attention to detail) and enjoys working in a fast-paced team. He/she needs to possess exceptional technical expertise in large scale data warehouse and BI systems with hands-on knowledge on SQL, Distributed/MPP data storage, Hadoop and AWS services.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, design, implement, and manage a deployment of self-service business intelligence and data visualization tool (e.g Power BI, Pentaho, Tableau, Qlik or QuickSight).
  • Plan, Design, implement, and support a platform providing ad hoc access to large datasets.
  • Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL.
  • Implement data structures using best practices in data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and SQL, Oracle, Redshift, and OLAP technologies.
  • Model data and metadata for ad hoc and pre-built reporting.
  • Interface with business customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete reporting solutions.
  • Build robust and scalable data integration (ETL) pipelines using SQL, Python and Spark.
  • Work with project team and partners to build and deliver high quality data sets to support specific reporting needs.
  • Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service analytics report for executive / internal stakeholders.

  • +3 years of hands-on experience in writing SQL queries across datasets.

  • Experience with data modelling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Data Warehousing Experience with Oracle, Redshift, etc.
  • Experience with AWS services including S3, Redshift, EMR and RDS.
  • Experience with Big Data Technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Pig, Spark, etc.
  • Experience in working and delivering end-to-end projects independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets.
  • Experience with AWS services including S3, Redshift, EMR and RDS.
  • Experience with software coding practices.
  • Experience using Linux/UNIX to process large data sets.
